Neil W. McCabe, the national political editor of The Star News Network, interviewed retired basketball player Royce White about his challenge to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D.-Minn.) for the state’s 5th Congressional District.
The Republican House hopeful was a standout college player for Minnesota and Iowa State, and in the 2011-2012 season for the Iowa State Cyclones, he was the only Division 1 player to be his team’s leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots.
White went on to have a professional career in the NBA after he was drafted in the first round, in addition to stints overseas and in the Big3 league. The Associated Press All-American said he will represent the district with integrity and he will put the district’s interests ahead of any globalist agenda.
After the Minneapolis native announced his candidacy, the leftwing press started attacking him for his challenges in the family court and over his child support obligations.
White said he is open about his situation and he welcomes the discussion.
The courts ordered him to pay child support based on an NBA salary of $40,000 per week, which was not sustainable after the NBA blackballed him out of the league, he said.

McCabe: Royce White was world-renowned as a college basketball player and was regarded as one of the most talented men to play in the NBA. White told The Star News Network why now he is running for Congress against Ilhan Omar.
White: I think she’s in on it with the globalists, the Uniparty. I think she’s a puppet for this entire agenda to undermine America as a nation and to usher in a new global authoritarian society.
McCabe: White was a standout at Minnesota and later Iowa State, and in the 2011-2012 season for the Cyclones, he was an Associated Press All-American and the only Division 1 player to be his team’s leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. The former all-American said he will represent his native Minneapolis with integrity.
White: Tell the truth. It really is that simple. The status quo of our politicians is lies. That’s the status quo. That’s the modus operandi. That’s how they do business. It’s become a cadre and a chasm of lies.
McCabe: Among Omar’s ethical lapses, she paid her husband more than $2.5 million dollars as a consultant out of funds raised for her campaign.
White: Maybe I should pay my wife $800,000 to do consulting work. I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know what the rules of engagement are anymore, and that’s a problem for citizens. We can’t play the game if we don’t know the rules.
McCabe: After White announced he was challenging a member of The Squad, the left-wing media has attacked him for his battles in family court over child support.
White: I was court-ordered to pay child support based on an NBA salary that I, A, didn’t really make. And the family courts never took into account whether or not I was blackballed from the NBA or whether or not I was no longer making that salary.
McCabe: He said he is confident his family court issues will be resolved.
White: I’m not really embarrassed by The Guardian or the article they put out regarding my family court matters. If anything, I was kind of elated. I’m like, let’s get to it. I got in this to have those kind of conversations, not shy away from them.
McCabe: Reporting for The Star News Network, Neil W. McCabe, Washington.
